Meet our Sanctuary Sweeties

Here are our Sanctuary Sweeties.

They cannot be adopted but can be sponsored!

They will live out their days here at our rescue, safe and happy.

Take a look and let us know if you would like to sponsor one of these beautiful horses.

DOM (THE DOMINATOR)

 Dom is a dark bay Thoroughbred gelding and arrived at the rescue on 9/24/21 with DJ from the racetrack. His foal date is 2/17/18. Dom is blind and is codependent on DJ. They are besties. This big, handsome guy is very sweet, loves people and carrots.

DJ (DJ'S ANGEL)

DJ is a bay mare Thoroughbred and arrived at the ranch on 9/24/21 with Dom from the racetrack. Her foal date is 4/23/18. She is best friends with Dom. She is blind and is co-dependent on Dom. She is very sweet, big and beautiful.

MOLLY

Molly is a Chestnut mare Thoroughbred.

Her foal date is 2016. She arrived at the rescue on 6/28/17. Her mother fell on her and broke her nose, so her nose is crooked. We got her when she was one from Kentucky. She is green, but adoptable. She loves hanging out with her bestie Mary.

JOURNEY

Journey is a Quarter horse and arrived at our rescue on 4/19/13 from a private party. He is blind and hangs out with the other blind horses. He is super friendly, big and beefy and just adorable! Any room in your heart to sponsor Journey?

MOOSE

Moose is a dark bay Thoroughbred gelding. We don't know his age, but we know he is a senior. He arrived at the rescue on 6/10/16. He is blind and hangs out with the other blind horses. He's very sweet and trusting. Can you help this sweet old man out?

T-LOW

T-Low is a sorrel gelding Quarter Horse. We don't know his age. He is blind. He belonged to an 80 year old man. The owner was on a ladder, fell off the ladder, breaking his neck and eventually 

died from his injuries. His wife couldn't take care of T-Low and called us. We went to Kennet, Missouri, and picked him up. He's a sweet boy and hangs out with the other blind horses. He would love to sponsored by you.

WILLOW

Willow is a bay mare Thoroughbred. Her foal date is 2011. She arrived at the rescue on 3/24/14 from the racetrack. She is blind and hangs out with the other blind horses. She is super sweet. She can see a long happy future with your sponsorship.

PETER

Peter arrived at the rescue on 1/18/12. His foal date is 2006. A horse trader in Arkansas had many horses and the ASPCA had to step in and remove them. The ASPCA contacted us about Peter and 3 other horses. Peter was scared and going blind. Now he's very sweet and hangs out with the other blind horses. Can you sponsor this blind baby so he can see to a long future?

MEGHAN

Meghan is a dark bay Thoroughbred mare. She arrived at our rescue in 2017 from New York. She has EPM and is so so sweet. She loves to get groomed and her lips quiver when you hit the right spot. We do not have her foal date, but know that she is a senior. She's also a big tease and loves to go visit the boys in her barn every chance she gets! Won't you help this old girl?

SOPHIE

Sophie is a grey dapple mare Thoroughbred. She arrived at the rescue on 4/14/08. Her foal date is 2014. She is very sweet. Are there any freckled face lovers out there that can help this girl?

LACEY

Lacey is a bay mare Thoroughbred. She arrived at the rescue on 6/2/22 from the racetrack. We think she was foaled in 2007. She is very sweet despite showing her "mare ears". She wouldn't cooperate for the pictures. (lol)

BUCK (BUCKSTEELER)

Buck is a grey roan gelding Thoroughbred. His foal date is 5/30/02. He is a retired racehorse and is blind in his right eye. Buck ran in 17 races and won $33,928. He did something in his stall and messed up his shoulder prior to arrival at the rescue on 4/14/08. He could barely walk and he was depressed. Barb decided to see if he would like a friend, so she got him a pony friend and he perked up. The pony is no longer with us, but he has a new bestie, Jake the Donkey! These two are always together. Buck is super sweet and is always ready to greet you. Can you help Buck by sponsoring him?

LOUIE (SPIRIT OF ST. LOUIS)

Louie is a bay Thoroughbred and arrived at our rescue on 11/9/16. His foal date 4/18/05. This big, beautiful guy is a champion hunter jumper! He is very sweet and is besties with Mr. Zook. This boy would jump for joy to be sponsored by you!

CROPPY (CROP REPORT)

Croppy is a dark bay Thoroughbred gelding. His foal date is 5/31/10. He arrived at the rescue on 2/28/23. He ran in 4 races and won $57,609.  He has kissing spine disease. He's great with people and super sweet. He's a big fan of carrots and horse treats. He is a ranch favorite. 

WILDA

Wilda is a chestnut mare Thoroughbred. She arrived at our rescue on 5/2/21. Her foal date is 2000. She was wild when we got her, but has settled in. She is besties with Mazel. This old girl would love to be sponsored!

DAPHNE

Daphne is a bay mare Thoroughbred. She arrived at the rescue on 12/19/17. We don't know her foal date. She is very sweet and absolutely loves the water (as you can see by the pictures). What's better than playing in the water? Rolling around after you play in the water! She would love to be sponsored by you.

MR. ZOOK (ZOOKER'S WILD)

ADOPTED

Mr. Zook is a bay gelding Thoroughbred and arrived at our rescue on 5/12/17. He ran in 23 races and won $6,875. His foal date is 4/21/11.

Zook is so sweet. This sweet boy would love to be sponsored by you. 

OPAL ("ZIPPIN A LIL SCOTCH")

Opal is a paint mare Quarter horse.

Foal date is 4/23/09. She is good being ridden. We've taken her to various events and have had kids riding her. She has been used for riding lessons too. She has one brown eye and one blue eye. Opal would be a great western pleasure show horse. She's a very sweet lady!
